RENOWNED peace activist and author Vijay Mehta will be visiting Tavistock to discuss his latest book next week.

Vijay is currently on a speaking tour to discuss his latest book ‘The Economics of Killing — How the West Fuels War and Poverty in the Devloping World’.
The event, on Wednesday, November 20, will begin with a viewing of the film ‘Change the World’, which is inspired by the book.

Vijay is the chair of Uniting for Peace and puts foward possible solutions to the economic difficulties we face.

He argues that problems are the result of the west’s dependence on the military-industrial complex, first identified by President Eisenhower.
Vijay’s work has been praised by many, including former government ministers Lord Frank Judd and Tony Benn, former UN assistant secretary-general Denis Halliday and MP Caroline Lucas.
The event presents an important and rare opportunity to hear up-to-date discussion of the vital issues faced by us all.

The evening begins at 7.30pm in the United Reformed Church in Russell Street, and has been arranged by Tavistock Peace Action Group.
