Ravi Kumar

Ravi Kumar is a consultant specialising in digital technology and innovation, with extensive experience across sectors including health, life sciences, smart cities, and economic regeneration.
A long-standing advocate for human rights, equality, and social justice, Ravi founded two UK-based human rights charities that have campaigned for legal protections for victims of discrimination, particularly those from South Asian backgrounds. In 2011, he represented these issues at the United Nations in Geneva, providing evidence to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) and contributing to efforts urging the UK Government to strengthen equality legislation.
Ravi has been an active member of the United Nations Association – UK (UNA-UK) since 2009, serving as Chair of the Birmingham Branch and later as Chair of the Central Region. Through these roles, he has built partnerships with universities, local authorities, and community organisations to promote the UN’s principles of peace, dignity, and equality, and to ensure that grassroots voices help shape national advocacy.
As an Executive Committee member of Uniting for Peace, Ravi continues to promote non-violence, multilateralism, and universal human rights. He is particularly committed to ensuring that the United Nations remains relevant in today’s complex global environment — especially in light of conflicts in the Middle East and the growing dominance of a unipolar world. Ravi believes that lasting peace requires the rights of indigenous and marginalised communities to be respected, recognising that many conflicts stem from the annexation of natural resources by states. He remains deeply committed to building a fairer, more equitable world — one not driven by corporate agendas that prioritise profit over people and human rights.
